History of Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror: A Family Company
Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror began in 1978. This was the same year Linda went to work for a State Farm insurance agent in Houston, Texas. This was also the same year Rick moved to Texas from New York. Rick and Linda met each other as neighbors in Stafford, Texas.
Fast forward to the1990's, Linda is still working for that State Farm insurance agent when she met up with Rick again; they decided to get married. Rick was working for a glass company 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Linda mentioned that if they were going to work 24/7 anyway, it might as well be for themselves. The agent Linda had been working for began planning his retirement, so the duo began brainstorming for a plan. It came to their attention that Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror, a glass business located in Houston, Texas, was up for sale. Rick and Linda decided to buy it and Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror shop as we know it today was born. The owners worked together full time drawing on their own past experiences and melded Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror into the stable company it is today.
After serving his country in the US Army, Linda's oldest son Shawn and his wife Jennifer returned to Texas to join the family at Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror. Jennifer's brother, Jeff, and Rick's mother, Betty, also came to work for the company; making Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror a true family owned and operated business. This family makes up the heart of the management team along with three additional office staff members, Terri, Shanna and Eden.
An emphasis on customer service and knowledge of their products and industry have sustained Hou-Tex Glass & Mirror since 1978 and now strengthened with the bonds of family, it will continue to prosper and grow long into the future.

2007 Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation's
Walk to Cure Diabetes.
